There is a field beside my childhood home, filled with spring flowers or mint tea leaves when the time is right. For me it is always full of memories. A place I spent many summers with my siblings and friends; even a place where my fine art photography began. It represents a place of perspective, and the normalcy of life, and a place that is almost like the tipping point towards something more.
Now that I am older and working in art I find that I’m often balancing, or trying to toe the line between curious adventure and the “sensibilities” of working with intentionality. I'm often not sure which world I am laying in or falling into. The same way it reminds me of my faith. Sometimes I feel between a childlike faith and a place of diligently putting my roots down, digging deep and living a life according to what truly is worth my belief and trust. It's all good, It's all beautiful. The two worlds of childlike wonder and seasoned wisdom may be more intermixed than at first I supposed.
So this photo is for us who can’t help but to believe. Us who live in the tension of two worlds, or at least that is how it seems.
